Save Fuel with Energy Saving Tyres
Many people will think Energy Saving Tyres are a bit of a scam, but they'd be wrong.
Research shows that a tyre contributes 20% of the overall rolling resistance to a vehicle. This effectively means if you fill up with fuel 5 times, one tank of fuel out of those 5 will be used to simply overcome the rolling resistance of the tyres.
Various tyre companies have developed lower rolling resistance tyres over the years but probably one of the first to hit the market was the Michelin MXT back in 1992. Lately Michelin introduced their latest incarnation of the energy saving tyre with the Michelin Energy Saver Plus
This new tyre boasts some very good improvements including:
- Long Lasting - Offers 33.3% more mileage than its competitors
- Fuel efficient - Save up to 60 litres of fuel compared to its predecessor
- Safe choice - Improved grip thanks to a 10% larger contact area compared with the previous generation
So what does this all mean to the Wigan tyre buyer?
It simply means you have a tyre option that will save you fuel every mile you drive. Ok they may be a little more expensive than the budget tyre option but if you do high mileage, this type of tyre is sure pay you back repeatedly. Rated 4.5 out of 5 by over 2,000 consumers, these tyres seem to keep quite a few people happy.
