Best Car Tyres 2017 a question on the lips of many, the only way to find out is to test them.
2017 saw a huge array of new tyres released by every tyre company across the world. Choosing the right tyre for you is often best left to tyre professionals, based on your driving, budget and car.
Earlier this year Auto Express put 11 tyres to the test, choosing the popular tyre size 205/55R16 size found on many medium sized family cars.

Over 100 tyres shipped to the testing ground
Auto Express used Bridgstones state of the art test track situated south of Rome in Italy. Over 100 tyres were shipped to the testing facility to cover every aspect of the extensive tests. Older tyre designs came head to head with brand new designs for this year. Notably Michelin tyres weren’t tested as they were about to launch a brand new design which wasn’t ready in time for the Auto Express test.
The tyres were tested using a Volkswagen Golf TDI and included

Price comparison analysis
And the winner is ….
The winner of best car tyres 2017 was revealed after all the scores on the doors has been calculated to be the Continental Conti Premium Contact 5. In second place came the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and in third place the Bridgestone Turanza T001 EVO.
One in the eye for Bridgestone especially given the testing was done at their own test track.
